-In the salt mine we have seen a beautiful laser show we think it was the most beautiful thing that we have ever seen. We were sightseeing in Alsfeld and we liked this town very much.

-This week we also visited a medical company (B-Braun) that was very interesting for us.

- We worked for example on computers or just talked together about our experiences.

- We went to the `Plan B` bar (teachers and students) and we had fun on Thursday. We danced a lot. It was so good.

-Today it`s Friday so it`s the last day at your school and we are sad because this week was so good.

Portugal, Aveiro experiencies through finnish eyes

What a beautiful city! Surrounded with the river and the sea is also rather near. We was one week with 2 collagues and 4 students in October 2016 Aveiro. We had a flight from Helsinki to Frankfurt and then to Porto where we stayed one night. Porto is rather big city and very lively. Next morning we travelled by train to Aveiro and it took about one hour. Students lived with their host families and we teachers lived about 9 kilometers from the city, near the sea.

I have never eat so much seafood in one week, but the food was delicious. And I mean really delicious because it was so fresh. In the evenings we went to walk in the beach to look those big waves of Atlantic sea. I thought to swim but when I saw those waves, I'd rather stay away....

In daytime we had very intensive work with the WoCu2.0 intercultural project and our Portugal coordinator Jorge arranged some companyvisits for teachers and students. Thanks a lot Jorge for that week and hope to see you in Finland in May 2016.

Best regards Päivi Tyrväinen

Experiences from Italy, Loreto spring 2015

Greetings from Finland,

We was with my collague Tuija Seppänen and me, Päivi Tyrväinen and 4 students one week in the WoCu2.0 project trip inItaly, Loreto. We had a flight from Helsinki to Munchen and then to Ancona. Our partner school teacher pick up us from airport to Loreto where the host families took care of our students for a one week.

It was rare and fine experience to live one week in the old monastery. Loreto is situated in the middle of the Italy, 25 kilometers from Ancona. And Ancona is the nearest airport near Loreto. After worked daily with our WoCu2.0 project, our coordinator Anna Gentile arranged us fantastic historical places to visit. Loreto's famous church is the Basilica Di Loreto and it is known as  the holy house of virgin Mary.  The statue of the madonna of Loreto is the black one. A lot of pilgrims visit in the holy house every year.

We visited with the students also in Assisi and Perugia. Assisi is known of Saint Francis, who was the patron saint of Italy. Saint Francis is buried in the crypta of Basilica. Perugia is known of its chocolate factory. I have never seen so much chocolate in one time. The most famous product is called "Perugina kiss" filled with the hazelnut. Molto buenissimo!

Nearest beach is situated 4 kilometers from Loreto. The beach is very long with the fine sands and there are lot of restaurants. I have never eat so much Italian food as that week. Spaghetti, lasagne, pizza, cappucino, tortellini, tiramisu and many more.

Big hug and thanks to Anna of that fantastic week. See you dear.

Best regards Päivi

My Experience in Alsfeld  14 – 20 February

I would like to introduce my speech saying that I´m so lucky to have Mara like my host girl, she is so nice and lovely, she and her family let me feel like if I was at home.

She lives far from Alsfeld , we got up at 6 am, then we took a bus, we waited at the rail station for about 30 minutes (sometimes we went to the bakery and we took a hot chocolate or something to eat) and we took a train and  finally we walked for about 10 minutes to arrive at school, but it wasn`t a problem for me.

I had a lot of fun with her and her friends, they were  kind with me.

I liked so much the trip to the salt mine, at the start it was a little bit scary because we were many meters underground , but the concert with the lights was amazing; the trip to the B-Braun was a little bit boring because the old woman said a lot of words that I didn`t know, but in general it was a good day. But I think the best moment was at the Thursday party at Plan B, I really had a lot of fun, the teacher that sang was amazing, my friends and I sang with her and we danced so much!

I tasted some typical German food, but I also had dinner in an Italian restaurant

I have to say thanks to my teachers and to the German teachers for this amazing experience!

MY EXPERIENCE IN GERMANY

My experience in Germany was really exciting.

We did a lot of interesting works on the morning at school. We discussed about some videos that we made in our countries, and we compared the works (video resolution, cultural message..etc)

We also visited the salt mine ad it was really beautiful; There was a wonderful show with colour lights into there, and I will remember it forever. After we went to B-Braun factory and I didn´t like it really so much but it was so interesting.

I slept in a girl´s house (her name is Larissa), and I really like her family. They´re so friendly and so helpful. I appreciated a lot that, the dad doesn´t speak English but he always tried to talk with me with Google translator, and I think that it´s the most beautiful thing that I saw in Germany.

Me and Larissa are friends now and we´ll organize a trip together to meet again. The days in Larissa´s house were really beautiful, and I could meet again the other guys that live in Germany  that I had met during the meeting in Italy, and now we´re a fantastic group.

I hope that everyone can do this experience because it´s unusual but at the same time it´s really educational.

MY EXPERIENCE IN GERMANY -Ilaria

I’m an Italian student and I took part in a project called  “Erasmus +    WoCu 2.0“.

My experience in Germany was amazing. My classmates and I went to Alsfeld. Here every morning we met in the Aula of the school, and we were told about work in general to find out and compare the different way of each country to behave at work with the customers, boss and other employees.

Every student was hosted by girls or boys. My host girl was very nice, friendly and her family too. They were kind and polite with me and I felt like at home. Every day they gave me a packed lunch and her father drove us until the bus station where we took the bus. The journey was long because she lives on a farm one hour away and we arrived at school at about 8 o’clock. That wasn’t a problem for me ‘cause I liked to stay with her.

In the afternoon we did different things such as a guided tour through town, an industrial visit to the B. Braun company and a tour to a salt mine. In particular I really liked this one, because I think the tour was the most interesting and fascinating of all. Here we saw a very nice show made with music and awesome lights. The guided tour through the town was nice too, but unfortunately we were outside and it was very cold.

On Thursday we had a party at Plan B.  Here we ate pizza and drank some beer or cocktails. We danced a lot and we had fun! I was very happy because I met my old German friends that I knew last year in Italy with the same project.

In the end on Saturday my classmates and I will go to Frankfurt to discover the fascinating attractions of the city like “Galeria” that is a very huge shopping center where I hope to buy a lot of souvenirs including an magnet for my mother.

Country: Italy

My experience in Germany was very exciting. Alsfeld is a very nice town that looks like Hogsmade, the city situated near Hogwarts, from Harry Potter’s books.
My host girl was very kind and she made me feel like if I was at my home.
When we were at school we had to do some activities and one day the German students made the breakfast for us.
The experience was good except for the visit to the B-Braun company, because they used some words that we had never heard before.
The visit at the salt mine was amazing especially for the light and music show. I felt very happy when I saw that.
The nights were quite beautiful because my host girl and her friends were very sweet and funny.
The party on Thursday was amazing and I enjoyed myself a lot.
I can just say that this experience was really good to improve my English and to meet new amazing people. I’d also like to say thanks to my teachers and to my host girl Nicola.
It was very amazing.

Experimenting

Our school is part of an ensemble of 6 schools : Agrupamento de Escolas de Esgueira in the outskirts of Aveiro. The secondary school which takes part in the project was built in 1982 welcoming 400 students and 30 teachers, but it has grown a lot since then! In the eighties we began the European experience with Comenius programs and we had the opportunity to know schools everywhere.
